The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), according to its representatives, is planning to invest in Montenegro around 100 million euros, with a focus mainly on the private sector.
Head of the EBRD office in Montenegro, Giulio Moreno, said that the EBRD will continue this year with the support of the energy sector, at the press conference, where the report on the transition to the previous year and annual analysis of the progress of reforms and economic developments in Montenegro were presented.
EBRD will, according to him, finance and one mini hydro project. He added that the EBRD expects that in two months the opportunities will be created to go to tender for the construction of the cable way from Lovćen to Kotor. He also said that the EBRD has also been involved in two major privatization projects: the Institute ’Dr Simo Milošević’ and the Shipyard in Bijela.
According to him, the last year was very important for Montenegro, because important steps were undertaken in terms of the EU and NATO integration.
The EBRD last year in Montenegro implemented projects worth 76 million EUR.
